WiFi Access Points

Customers, clients and staff expect Good WiFi.

Not being able to connect can be prove frustrating.

With employees and guests connecting to your WiFi from laptops, smartphones, and tablets, the strain on your wireless network increases quickly. Connecting business-grade access points has many benefits.

  • A strong signal everywhere
  • Separate guest access
  • Greater number of connections

Access points can be installed anywhere you can run an Ethernet cable. Newer models are also compatible with Power over Ethernet, or PoE (a combination Ethernet and power), so there is no need to connect to a power socket.

Additional standard features include Captive Portal and Access Control List (ACL) support, so you can limit guest access without compromising network security, as well as easily manage users within your Wi-Fi network.

What is an Access Point?

An access point creates a wireless local area network (WLAN) by connecting to a router or switches via Ethernet cable. Each access point projects a WiFi signal for up to 60 simultaneous connections. These can be positioned to provide a signal boost to areas of intense activity, or to remove black spots. Access points can also serve multiple WiFi signals keeping your private staff network secure from your guest WiFi.

How does this differ from a range extender?

A range extender lengthens the range of an existing WiFi signal. These must be placed in range of the original source and boosts the signal. These are great for home use to illuminate dead zones but does not increase the number of devices able to connect.

Why Access Points are best for business

Each access point adds connections to your WiFi network. With increasing demands for WiFi from laptops, smartphones, and tablets even small businesses can easily reach 100+ connected devices at any one time. Installed throughout your office, users can move freely without dropping the connection, as your device connection moves from one access point to the next. All points are setup on a single SSID, which means a single login for your entire network.
